Clever Girl opened in downtown Western Springs in the spring of 2008. We brought with us 30+ years of retail experience and merged our two previous stores, Abigail Rose and Finnie McClure into one. The vision of combining all of our favorite lines under one new (and much bigger) roof in a new town was an enticing opportunity. It is here we now offer the clothing, accessories, gifts and one-of-a-kind treasures we find both appealing and inspiring. Something new is always arriving: something clever is always just around the corner…
Whether it's rummaging through an antique market in Maine, wandering the streets of Chicago, going to the fashion markets in New York, or dreaming of Paris, we delight in finding inspiration everywhere. This is what sparks our imagination and why we find ourselves always on the lookout for things with a history or a story.
A French Connection
French Toast, our store in Hinsdale, Illinois closed in February of 2009 
after more than a dozen years in downtown Hinsdale, Illinois. French Toast customers are delighted to find many of their favorite products are now offered at Clever Girl. Our love of Paris and all things French has certainly not waned, and you’ll find the occasional treasures from the Paris flea markets as well as truly wonderful French products among the stock at Clever Girl.
The staff at Clever Girl is an integral part of who we are. We love to laugh, shop, and work with the merchandise, and, of course, deliver great customer service. Combined we have more than 38 years together selling the things we love to the customers we truly enjoy.
